Titillating Tuesday - I Kissed A Girl

22 07 2008

So back by popular demand, and when I say popular demand I really only do mean 1 request. You see how damn accommodating I can be when I feel like it? Here you go Spoonz! This brief little encore was brought about by a pretty kewl song that seems to be making it’s way from chart to chart around the world and even seemingly into the Middle East which does surprise me a little. It is a cheeky little number by an artist who I have never heard of before (but that’s not saying much) named Katy Perry with the song, “I kissed a girl”.

How can one resist???

Titillating Tuesday - History

3 06 2008

Titillating Tuesday has been fun to do but I think it’s getting a little old. I used to get feedback on it but that hasn’t happened in a while so I guess everyone has just gotten bored of the whole idea. Also there is only so much breast you can relate to day to day activities in my life.

So without much further ado, and unless I get substantial feedback, I hereby declare this the last Titillating Tuesday on OffTheHoox. It’s history.

So long and thanks for coming by!

Titillating Tuesday - Junk Food

13 05 2008

One of the many luxuries that I have come to miss while away in remote spots of the world is junk food. Sad I know! But true none the less.

It’s not the actual food I miss. It’s just there’s nothing like popping down to your local Mickey D or KFC or Nandos and picking up a box of yummy goodness. The goodness I refer to is obviously only the taste and does not refer to the health aspects and does nothing for the waistline. Oh and talk about convenience and 24/7 availability. Just down the road and 5 minute shebang, there you have it. Your junk food high and the enjoyment it offers until you overindulge and feel ill the rest of the day. It’s the abundance of this kind of pleasure that you take for granted while in the land of plenty.

Lately I have been reminded all too regularly of these wonderful pleasures and how I will be able to eat my fill upon my return. 14 days and counting!

Titillating Tuesday - Chess

6 05 2008

Life is, from time to time, described as a game of chess. Most of the time we are merely the pawns in the greater game. Sometimes you increase your rank through life but only on your little chess board. If you look any higher than that, then you will see that in the bigger picture you are simply a pawn again.

You can see this as a bad thing and sulk that you are never good enough or you can see it as a great thing that you always have something higher to strive for. You can also just settle for the board you are playing on, get comfortable and take care of the others that surround you.

If you do intend to climb onto the bigger boards through life, do it with dignity. Play nicely. Be careful with the other pawns in life as they are just as important to your success as you can be to theirs. You also never know when one of these pawns meets you one day as your rook or your bishop or maybe even your king. How things progress from there will be based on how situations have been handled in the past.

Some days you are the pigeon. Others days you are the statue!

When all is said and done though, just remember, this game of chess, this game of life, is yours to do with as you please. Try play it in a way that you can help others have a little fun and enjoyment too!

Titillating Tuesday - Visualization

29 04 2008

The art of visualization is an extremely powerful tool. Recently I have read about sports science linking athletes up to EEG machines and other monitoring equipment and have them “run the race” or “swim the heat” in their minds. Apparently it is so real in the athletes mind that the same muscles fire that would if they had actually been physically taking part. They actually feel as if they are competing.

Another great visualization is that advice that you get when making a big speech in front of many people and your ass is doing that million mile and hour pucker… “Imagine the audience naked”. Trust me, this is not always good advice. You have no idea of the scary images you could conjure up!

Choose your audience carefully!

Titillating Tuesday - Need A Ride

22 04 2008

One thing I have not had to worry about for a very long time now is transport. I realized the other day that when I move back to SA I will have no way of getting around. I need a car. Everywhere else I have been I have had transport taken care of for me. London on the tube, trains and busses, USA in cabs, on all international projects in company vehicles with company drivers. When on holiday I have just hired a car.

Gawd, now I have to fend for myself. I need to buy a car, drive myself, pay taxes, get insurance, buy fuel, pay for parking, take it to the mechanics, wash it myself. Ahhh Noooooooo! I have to rejoin reality!

Hey. Is there anyone out there that can give me a heads up on how and where and what I can buy where I wont get ripped off for something half decent? If you do, please drop me an email with some info.

Hoox needs wheels!

Titillating Tuesday - Leap of faith

8 04 2008

The time is right. The time is now. It’s time to take charge. It’s time to jump. It’s time for that leap of faith. My life is about to change and this is no little thing for me. But it feels good. It feels right. It needs to be done. It needs to be done now.

God this feels good. I feel free. I am back in charge of my life. Actually I don’t think I ever lost control but I certainly lost sight of what was important. So I think it’s probably better to say that I have regained direction. I have lived a good life and with very few regrets. This life up until now has carved a way for me to make this change.

I would be a liar if I said I wasn’t just a little nervous. For those people that really know me will know what a big deal this is. I must just have a little faith. I know I’m doing the right thing.

Titillating Tuesday - My continent

25 03 2008

Being back in Africa for the 2nd time this adventure has been really hectic. I feel that just as I was getting used to the time zone change of being in Houston I was yanked out again and sent packing back to Africa. I am battling to sleep until 7am when suddenly I can’t keep my eyes open. This makes for a long day.

Work has been really busy and although somewhat frustrating, it has also been completely rewarding up until now. Some things still need to be ironed out aside from the masses of work that is about to hit all of us out here, I guess things will fall into place one way or another. I must stress the possibility of “or another”.

Africa has so much beauty going for it. I agree the whole continent has some issues but apart from …

Titillating Tuesday - Patriot

18 03 2008

Being in America has been really good. I do believe Americans are really such friendly people when in their own country. They are very patriotic and love their way of life. I have always found Americans very welcoming.

Before I got here, so many people, including Americans, were warning me, “Houston is great it’s just a pity about all the Houstonians (Is that a word?) cos they are so rude”. I have met nobody in Houston that has been anything but polite, friendly and helpful. Ok, everyone except for the people at the airlines but that is just the travel industry issue!

I do love visiting America and I will be back again sometime. There’s loads in the middle that I haven’t seen yet.

Titillating Tuesday - Rodeo

11 03 2008

Save a horse, ride a cowgirl.

It’s rodeo time in Houston. There is so much going on. Check it out: http://www.hlsr.com/

I have already visited once and I’m sure there will be many more visits while I’m in town! I went to a boot store and this cowboy showed me some boots, none of which cost less than $1 000. I mean, they were nice boots I guess as cowboy boots go but $1 000? Then he showed me a pair that cost $12 000. WHAT?
