A strange thought this evening was the whole concept of taking something that by it’s very name and nature is cold and frozen hence the "ice" in ice cream, and applying extended heat in this frying process.
I asked the waiter how on earth this ice cream does not melt and therefore should in fact be called, "warm, sweet milk". He half snorted and while rolling his eyes declared "How should I know? I’m not the chef!
I still now have difficulty with the concept that is along the lines of ordering a boiled ice cube but it turned out great none the less. It’s fried in in a ball of cake. A wonderful dessert to compliment an awesome meal!

At the risk of becoming a comment whore, I shall leave another comment.
If you ever find yourself in Cape Town, stop by at a restaurant called “Jakes”.
There are 2 branches, 1 in Steenberg Village and 1 in Kenilworth down Summerly Road.
They have fried ice cream dessert which is incredibly.
Two scoops of ice cream coated in ginger nut breadcrumbs, deep fried for a bit and then coated in a Butterscotch sauce.
Will definitely make a stop there next week when I am back.

TP – You trying to make me homesick dude? I haven’t been away long enough for that just yet. Give it another month or so. Remember, you can keep Cape Town! 8) . But saying that, IF I ever lose my way and happen upon the fairest Cape again, I will be sure to look you up and we can hit some fried ice cream before copious amounts of silly booze! I just don’t know my way around so I don’t know either place you just mentioned. You will have to give me directions from Kiteboarding Heaven, Blouberg where I will be guest-housed!

If you are around in CPT give me a shout.
I still owe you a beer a two for all the answers and chat about the Pilot’s License stuff.
Cape Town is easy to get around. Keep the mountain to your left or right dependant on where you are going.
I live down in the deep South so going anywhere near Blouberg is quite a big outing.
