B… B… Bloukrans!

Welcome to the highest bungy jump in the world. Bloukrans Bridge, Garden Route, South Africa. 216 meters. Bring it!

And here is KP, the adrenalin junkie from Albania, about to throw herself off this perfectly good bridge! Na Cmende!

Did I jump? NOT A CHANCE!

3, 2, 1… Bunnggggyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

KP – The Cape Malay

10 points for KP!
New place, new food…

We are sitting in Calitzdorp (another spot in the middle of freaking nowhere) having lunch at a kewl local spot that makes great traditional fare.

KP asked what Babotie is and I badly described it ending off saying “just have it, it’s good, I love it”. So she did. And she enjoyed it! Only kewl people like Bobotie! Those who don’t…. just don’t!

‘Twasn’t Me!

Despite my ramblings of yesterday of my distaste for Cape Town and everything about it, (I was just having an infuriating time trying to navigate my way around), I swear I had nothing to do with the fires. LOU!!! 8)

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those effected by these blazes. I saw them in the dark first thing this morning when heading out of town to continue our road trip.

Love you Cape Town!
Love you Cape Tonians!

Xxx

To hell with Cape Town

A city of idiots. Designed by idiots, for idiots! And everyone trying to rip everyone else off.

The roads? Make no sense! Come on now. Were they all designed by a frikkin stoner relying completely on this so called power of the mountain? And what’s with all the traffic? So many cars, so few lanes!

Oh and one thing that really bites my ass something ridiculous is all this calling of stuff “Two Oceans” this and “Two Oceans” that. Have any of these single brain-celled numpties had a look at a map recently! Contrary to popular local belief you have one ocean all around Cape Town. It’s called the Atlantic Ocean. Deal with it. When you do finally grab that map use the scale on it to work out how far away the Indian Ocean actually is. I think you will be surprised. Or not.

Two Oceans Aquarium? For the price? Skip it. Highly over rated.

What happened to Quay Four in the V&A Waterfront? Shit looking these days, shit service and shit food. What a pity. I used to love the place. Actually the entire Waterfront is looking quite shoddy.

Kay I’ve had enough bitching.

Goodnight. Tomorrow we leave.

On top of the world

Power of the mountain. Maan!

This is the view from the bottom of the cable car going up Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa.

Touristy of note!

I just died…

… and went to pancake heaven!

Ignore what I said about gluttony last night. This is the business!

If you ever get a chance to go to Langebaan, South Africa, you really would be doing yourself a dis-service if you don’t visit Pancakes Galore & Coffee Bar for a breakfast treat and a kick ass pancake for dessert!

I’m such a pig but I’m ok holiday! Still! I’m going to have to jog alongside the car for the rest of the roadtrip just to work all this off.

This one is a chocolate mouse with softserve ice cream pancake with additional bananas as an extra! You can’t go wrong!

African Dining – Hoox style

While KP was tucking into her lemon soup, I was getting stuck into my ribs.

All rounded off with a deliciously unhealthy helping of chocolate cheesecake and ice cream.

Which sin was gluttony? I’m feeling a little guilty!

Standloper – Legendary seafood

I was really hoping to be able to partake in some of the best seafood dining known to man. There is this legendary restaurant on the beach in Langebaan, South Africa, called Strandloper (direcly translated meaning “beach walker”) where they serve about 12 courses of the best seafood ever at a very reasonable set price per head. Unfortunately because it’s way out of season and town is quiet now they limit the number of days they are open. Sadly today and tomorrow are not on their open schedule. Wednesday, which is open, is unfortunately too late for us.
