A gym breakthrough

I am feeling very chuffed at the moment as I have just got back from the gym after weighing myself.

When I started the USN 12 Week Challenge I was 115.5kgs. I have been checking on and off over the last couple of weeks that this has been going on and I have seen very little to no result which, even though it’s still early, is still pretty desponding. I have to keep reminding myself that I put it all on over 8 years and it’s not going to come off in 8 minutes. This morning though I am 113.3kgs. Whoo hooo! I know it’s not massive on anyone’s scales but it certainly is a big achievement for me, is in the right direction and just the drive I needed to push on through and step it up a notch.

The whole ordeal has actually been fine to date. The diet is a little painful over the weekends and it sux to feel guilty for one to be enjoying themselves in life. During the week itself though it isn’t bad. I actually find it difficult to remember to eat so much. When I say eat I mean an apple and a protein shake but it’s so often during the day that I never feel hungry. The worst craving is walking into Woolworths Food and smelling their roasting chickens. Hmmmmm. Block that out your mind and you can block out damn near anything!

The killer is the early mornings. I have never been a great early riser and I am now fetching Mullac at 5:50 every morning. That’s not too terrible as long as I have a good night’s sleep. The wind blowing through PE at 250kph (I am exaggerating) at 2 in the morning, although it sounds amazing, does not do wonders for anyone’s sleep patterns.
