In the midst of a catch up

Today is now Wednesday and I woke up to some weather that I have not seen in a very very long time. The bright flash and crack that looked and sounded like a mortar or similar artillery landing 20 feet from my bed turned out to be lightning and the corresponding thunder overhead. So much for the lie in.

Well I’m up now and chomping on my breakfast. Good times. I’m sitting at my desk and I’m watching sheet rain fly sideways past my window and I’m loving it. Only thing I’m not that impressed about is realising that I forgot my previously damp / now soaking bathmat out on the line. At least it’s getting a wash Mother Nature style! Whoo Hooo! I have a garden with a clothes line!

I forgot to mention last week in all my hassle of trying to pack and get sorted to leave Johannesburg, my favourite favourite was in town. The world’s best Bean came to visit from London. It was awesome timing cos as she arrived on Saturday, she had enough time to drop off her bags, say hi to her mom and get out to Grand Central Airport and come flying with me, LNel and B. We had a wonderful flight out over Hartees again looking for B’s farm and then out again to Pilanesberg and again over Sun City.

Her and I then had some kewl time afterwards to sit and catch up over a meal and a few drinks! We squeezed in a few more events during her week but schedules were so hectic I never got to see her half as much as I would have wanted. Last Thursday as I was packing the last of my stuff to hit the road, we went flying again, this time with her nephews. It was a great flight, somewhat bumpy with turbulent air, but what with circumstances and turbulence it created an “interesting” landing which turned into a go-around. I chalk it down to experience and one I will laugh about for quite some time to come.

Bean… Thanks for the time. It was great seeing you again. Next time Port Elizabeth! Love you babes! See you soon!

This week so far has just been spent running around trying to get my house in order. I have also been talking to the different flying schools trying to make sense of everything that’s going on. I think my mind is now made up which does bring with it a sense of peace. Spooky, as I was typing that my phone rang and it was the school that I felt I was going to go with. My mind is now made up. I start at 2pm today. Night rating, here I come.

My mother arrives for a long weekend visit tomorrow. It’s also Mullac’s birthday tomorrow with events kicking off on the weekend. Kewl. Tomorrow is also Pillik’s birthday. Happy birthday babes! Pity I can’t come celebrate with you in Korea! So much going on! It’s great! You are all invited! 8)
