If you haven’t yet seen the movie, or read the book, The Secret, then I would highly recommend you do so as soon as possible. It really is an eye opening WOW on life. Take from it what you will. No matter what you believe or don’t believe, it can only improve your life. I have seen it many times now and it always has a positive effect on me and how I view life.
Last night, or should I say very early this morning (what with USA – SA time differences), I joined a teleconference with two fantastic life coaches, Christy Whitman and Rich German, who teach the workings on the Law Of Attraction, the basis of The Secret. It really was incredible and I am very glad I did.
To summarise, I will list what I feel was the important details but again I highly recommend you check out their respective sites as linked above for more information and insight. It was basically an interview style seminar with Christy asking Rich for his advice on manifesting great things for yourself in your life. Again, incredible.
Rich started off talking about a small judging tool he uses called “The Happy Scale”. If you look at yourself and give yourself a rating from 1 (Being suicidally unhappy) to 10 (Being over the moon ecstatic with life), where do you fit? And why? I gave myself a 5. I need to do work on myself and going through these points listed below I think I kind of figured out my why.
- Happiness is determined by your dominant emotions broken down into simply: Feeling good / Feeling bad. Get in the habit of feeling good! Feeling less than an 8 means you are using the wrong dominant emotion.
- Who decides how YOU feel? Who is responsible for YOUR good and happy thought? YOU ARE!
- Don’t take life too seriously. Have fun!
- Stop reading newspapers and watching the news. There’s only bad news on TV and in the papers. Bad news gives you bad emotion. If there’s something you really need to know about in the world, it will tell you! Or a mate that likes to gossip will.
- Stick to the good news.
- Make feeling good your #1 priority!
- And don your emotional suit of armour. Don’t let the world’s negativity get you down. There will be good days and bad days.
Rich also spoke about the 3 most important tools to be used regularly in order to achieve your desired happiness. I will list them and describe them briefly:
1. The 10 - 10 (Ten Ten) exercise.
- Do this every day for 30 days without skipping a day and he guarantees a major improvement in your life in many aspects.
- Every morning when you wake up write up a list of 10 things that you are most grateful for. Food, family, roof over your head, clothes to wear, a job to go to, money, security etc. Whatever you feel most grateful for. Even your pet goldfish. Anything. It’s your list. If you can list these things then you are better off than 75% of the planet. That’s worth being grateful for. Remember it doesn’t have to be the same things every morning.
- Every morning when you wake up write up a list of 10 things that you want you attract into your life. Love, heath, wealth, a new car, a new job, a better girlfriend, new shiny shoes, a bicycle, anything! Again it’s your list so make it a good one every morning. Again, it doesn’t have to be the same things every morning.
Taking these two items above, and combining them very simply now just means, “love what you have and feel free to want more, of anything”.
2. Meditation.
- This he declared as one of the most important aspects for many good reasons.
- We all naturally have a perfect and pure soul, energy, call it what you like.
- Our bodies through life are filled with crap.
- Our minds through life are filled with crap.
- Meditation will allow the purifying of the body and mind and allow the pure soul or energy to come through allowing you to focus on what it is you want in your life and help you achieve it.
- We are all a great energy core. “The energy that created and sustains the universe is the same energy that created and sustains you”. Bring that energy level up and use it for good for yourself.
- They say that 1 hour of “inner work” equates to 8 hours of “outer work”, so take one hour each morning to work on your lists and meditation and that should see you through the day. Sounds good doesn’t it?
3. Nutrition and exercise.
- Learn about proper nutrition, the proper fuel for your body. You wouldn’t put mentholated spirits or lighter fuel into your car’s engine because you know it was not designed to accept that kind of fuel. Same goes for the body. Learn the correct fuels and have your body running like a well oiled machine.
- Create a clean healthy body for yourself. Take care of yourself. Start going to the gym, take a walk around the block. Get that blood flowing. Get into shape.
Rich went on to explain why some people feel they do not benefit from this Law Of Attraction. It gets quite complicated apparently but broken down into it’s simplest form he says that people just feel frustrated. Frustration is the root of most negatively. People feel let down. What people don’t realise though after watching or reading The Secret is that you have to actually integrate these great concepts into your life. I too have felt equally frustrated but looking back with 20/20 hindsight, I see that I have got what I wanted but I was too focused on something else to notice. Integrating these concepts will make everything a lot clearer and will show you many things that you can be extremely grateful for.
We were given a list of “6 steps of manifestation”.
- Feel good! Simple right? Try it on. Just feel good. Think happy thoughts.
- Set forth the the intention. Decide what you want and then get the hell out of your own way. You can only slow yourself down!
- Take inspired action. When you know what you want and you feel really good, you will notice automatic inspired action. When you do what you love you never have to drag yourself out of bed to do it. That’s inspired action. When an opportunity knocks, open that damned door and take a look. It might just be what you have wanted all your life.
- Release the “how”. How things are going to manifest in your life and how the delivery of what you wished for is going to take place is not your problem. The concept of the universe and how the energy works is way too big for any of us mere mortals to understand. Just know that it will work itself out and sometimes in the most uncanny way and when you least expect it. Let the universe do the how.
- Be a YES to life. See things in a positive manner. Have a “can do” attitude. Saying no to things simply cuts you off from the flow of the universe.
- Allow your intention to manifest. Feel worthy. Feel grateful for what you have. Look forward to what you are about to receive. Make it real. Love it.
I know this may all be coming as one hell of an ask and it may seem like crazy concepts etc but like I say, invest a bit of time in yourself, watch the DVD or read the book, The Secret. Get hold of anything you can that may improve your life. Just think about it like this, if everything that I just said was mumbo jumbo and you tried it on for 30 days, tell me how your life could be worse off? Absolute worst case scenario, everything stays the same. Any change in your life can only be for the good. Imagine 30 days of happy thoughts. How could that hurt? If it works, don’t stop there.
