A Sad Day For A Foo Fighters Fan

29 09 2008

It was brought to my attention over the weekend that the legendary band the Foo Fighters are going to be “taking a long break” and that fans should not expect any new music from them for a very long time.

This news coming after my previously hectic travelling lifestyle meant that I missed seeing them live with front row tickets back when I was in Iraq (Check it out)

Quote taken from NME.com

“Frontman Dave Grohl told BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles that the band were set to go on hiatus then return with a new sense of purpose further down the line.
"We’ve never really taken a long break, I think it’s time," he said.
The former
Nirvana drummer continued: "After doing Wembley (the band played Wembley Stadium on June 6 and 7) we shouldn’t come back there for 10 years because we’ve played to everybody.
"We’re over in the UK every year, every summer, so I think it’s time to take a break and come back over when people really miss us."”

(In Your Honor)

Hurry back boys. You never did tour South Africa and we still dig you even if those boring Poms don’t fully appreciate your talents and are easily bored! Welcome to Africa. Mi casa es su casa

Thanks to V Festival 2003 though, I did see them live. From a distance

You see that tree to your left?
We were just to the right of that going crazy.

Saw them again in 2007 when they did an awesome unplugged set under the name “Studio 606″.

TP - No ways…. You were there? FRONT ROW?? Arrrrrggggghhhh!!!!! I would have been going nuts too! Where did they do the unplugged? Was that not for their live Skin and Bones? Or was it completely unique music under their pseudonym Studio 606? Is it possible to get your hands on a recording of this?
