This whole debacle of fuckwit Zuma and his clan of corrupt side-kicks continues. Most people in similar situations facing corruption charges (along with with a fleet of other charges) would at least try to deny any wrong doing. Not in this place. Here the whole sordid affair gets handled by publicly threatening the official body that holds the evidence. The Scorpions, who were once praised by the ANC for such outstanding work successfully fighting crime are now ANC enemy number 1 when one of their own got caught with their hand in an arms deal corruption cookie jar!
Johannesburg – A top official of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has warned that the African National Congress will not hesitate to “kill” the Scorpions if they continued to pursue ANC president Jacob Zuma, the Sowetan newspaper reported on Monday.
The news report quoted Cosatu’s KwaZulu-Natal secretary general Zet Luzipho as saying: “If the Scorpions bite the wrong people we will kill them. Like a dog when it starts biting relatives at your home. You get rid of it. We will do the same to the Scorpions.”
This comes after a weekend of “proud followers” (God help us all) protesting at police stations insisting that the charges against Zuma get dropped. Are they actually for real or just plain downright stupid? Do these people in South Africa blatantly want a criminal for a president? Lead by example? Hmmmm I guess that’s already the case then.
Welcome to The Banana Republic. Please leave your skins at the door.
Zuma, please, at least just once act like a normal criminal and claim to be innocent even though we all know damn well it’s not true!

I almost counted on that one to appear here. I was shocked when I read that, it just shows how some people really do (or don’t want to) understand how democracy (or more specifically a constituational state) works. You can’t simply drop charges because you don’t like what happens. You can’t simply declare an individual above the law. And you particularly cannot do either of these things if you are a member of a trade union – it is interesting how he blatantly uses “we” in his threat.

s_20 – Look at the whole of Africa and try and use the word democracy to decribe any one of the dictating governments that claim to be democratic. There’s the easily spotted “democratic leader” of Bob Mugabe but the list is endless and obvious. The constitution is used only to change laws to make the powerful more legally powerful through corruption. If this continues here in South Africa we can soon follow the footsteps of the rest of Africa. I was once given an awesome recording of the breakdown of aparteid and the change of government with great speaches, enough to give anyone goosbumps, called the Winds Of Change (highly recommended and available in most music stores). Sad thing now it seems these great winds which did wonders for this amazing nation is bringing with it some very bad elements and even acid rain! In Africa, any government official is above the law, and drives fancy cars! Can someone please bring some sense back into this great nation?
