It really drives me nuts when you send someone an email listing a handful of very pertinent questions and they reply with one or two and simply ignore the rest. Not only is it annoying, it is also extremely unprofessional. If a potential client has responded to you with interest then at least give them the courtesy of a full response.
Read the email chain below. It is a job offer I received a few days ago. There’s no need to read the full job description that I have put into italics, I just left that there so show that none of what I was asking was mentioned in the original email making my questions very valid ones based on the industry he is recruiting for.
After his “extremely detailed” reply I never responded again.

Hi [Insert Name Here]
Thank you for the kind consideration. 4 months ago I would have jumped at it. I am still interested but I just need a short time to plan accordingly. When are you looking at filling the position? What is the rate for this position? Is it an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly rate? Is it full time or regular on/off rotations? If it is rotational can you please advise the rotation schedule and terms and conditions. You mention rig support. Is this an onshore or offshore position? Aberdeen or Netherlands?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks
Regards
Hoox

Looks like they only hear what they want to hear (or read?). It’s not really a good sign for things to come IMO.
Lou - I know a few people who do this. So damn annoying. You think I’m asking for my health? What’s an IMO? :S
Silly Hoox, an IMO is a TLA. Much like a GBD (3 or 4 striper).
Regards
WG
PS Please don’t say GTF, I’ll be offended
Its a sign Babe… and i will bestow upon you some hindsight that you clearly need…. that was what they were like… frustrating to say the least! If thats your reply you get you need to read between the two lines and realise MTN, Vodacom, Telkom, Lanes, and SA are worth putting up with instead of always having to tell people their jobs.
bleughhh makes me sooo annoyed!
xxxx
this is one of those moments when i hear the words
“YOU ARE NOT LISTENING”
WG - HUH? Are you even communicating or just bumbling through the frikkin alphabet? okok, I get the GBD only cos you added the stripes and I’m a striper (2 little ones)…
KT - “You just don’t get it!” HAHAHAHA. Why are people so much less competent than my expectations? Do I really aim that high in service excellence? I think I’m an accepting kind of guy! As long as what I’m getting is damn near perfection!
Sorry…… IMO = In My Opinion
Oh yeah, your weather girl needs updating - just noticed that
Lou - Thanks and ummm thanks!
