There are some amazing aspects about being home in South Africa. For one it’s the mild climate we experience.
Over the last 5 years I have been to places that at midday in the peak of summer we experienced temperatures that would make hell feel like a luke warm bath. 68°C in the shade while waiting for an aircraft to take off. No wonder those Arabs are an irritable bunch!
On the other scale I have also been to places where hell has frozen over and it was so damn cold that even the Eskimos buggered off and got the hell out of Dodge. -35°C not including wind chill.
So now I have to start laughing out loud when I hear people talking about, and having it broadcast on the radio, that Johannesburg is about to experience a severe cold front that is “moving in fast” and the max temperatures during the day will be a bitterly cold… wait for it…. 13°C. Yeah that’s 13°C not -13°C.
13°C? Some people would call that a mild summer’s morning in the UK

bug the difference is, and if you lived in CT you would know what i am talking about, all houses and buildings in the UK are built for that weather so once indoors you can de-robe and pretty much walk around starkers its so hot. Now… in CT it is not raining, flooding, hailing, storming, for once in two weeks and the sun has popped its sleepy eyes round them puffy grey clouds, and i tell you i am still dressed like the OROS man its so bloody cold my numbies are about to fall off….my home is like a giant igloo and while i talk i can blow smoke rings… INDOORS with just my breath!! come stay i am sure you will change your mind!! Hahahaha xx
KT - Be careful girl! You better wrap up and keep them numbies warrm cos if you lose those guys you will instantly be seriously off balance and fall over on your back probably doing yourself a serious injury!
You see, that’s another reason I dont like Cape Town. A wet winter. At least in JHB when it’s cold it’s still dry and sunny so ytou can try and bullshit yourself that it’s warm outside.
