This weekend has been very interesting. On Saturday I spent all day in the office but not all day at work. Some of the day was spent thinking about my new life and my imminent start to my studies and all things flying. I was talking to a good old friend of mine that I haven’t seen for about 10+ years and told her I was thinking about maybe doing something before I come home to SA like go away somewhere for a bit. She said “Hoox! You are becoming a student and and will be jobless for about 2 years with loads of hard work and pressure. This could be your last joll (party) for a while…. DO IT!”
So I did!!
3 hours later I had my air tickets booked to Bangkok where I will spend a little over two weeks. I am planning on a week or so up in the mountains and then a week or so down on the beach. That is about the extent of the plans. They will become more focused when I get there! If anyone is keen to join, you are welcome. If not, fckit, I go on my own. I will be there from June 8 – June 25.
Thailand is always a place I have wanted to visit. There is so much to do and see but most of all I just want to go there to relax and unwind before my studies begin. I want to experience the real Thai massage and meditation. Go and visit exotic places with beautiful people.

KT – Thanks babe! I am really excited about it! I am only a couple months ahead of you and your epic grand tour of our extensive amazing planet. Lets not talk about jelly just yet. I will be turning a South African passport shade of green when you take off! You can come tie my thai if you wish… X

Good luck with the ‘real Thai massage’. Did that on one of my R&R’s and can only equate it with being mugged. By a tiny little woman that probably weighed 80 pounds soaking wet. I advise that you start with the one hour option and not be so optimistic as me, who signed up for 2 hours from the get-go. Enjoy.
