Facebook Revelations

10 03 2008

Every once in a while you have things in your life that give you a little clue as to who you want in your life and who you don’t. Or who wants you in their life or not! Sometimes it is a LOT clearer than just a little clue but instead shows bright as day! Who would have thought Facebook could have been one of things? Well as it turns out it is quite common place these days.

It’s quite silly really, who is friends with who on Facebook and for what reasons. And then, should one really care if one day you find you have one friend less?

 facebook remove

No, one really shouldn’t. Even though in life sometimes simple actions like this simple click to remove someone are definitely inevitable, I guess what hurts the most is the knowledge of the conscience decision made to take that step. It’s kind of final. So be it. Decision made! And it does hurt like a bitch! WHY?

Facebook
(CLICK TO REMOVE)

To hell with it. Rather focus on real people who make a positive difference in your life. And really when you look at the bigger picture and see what people can do in reality knowing full well how you feel but go ahead anyway,…. oh fuck it! Whatever.

Goodbye old friends.

That sucks…

I recently found myself deleted off some supposed-friends lists too, which didn’t sting nearly as bad as having two entire blog posts dedicated to how f-ed up and selfish I apparently am. *sniff*

Anyway, I am not going to let it ruin my week, and neither should you.

For what it’s worth I think you’re a good person and friend and I’d link you twice on Facebook, if I could. :-P YOU ROCK! (and don’t you forget it!)

I have mixed feelings on this subject….Its a tough one, face book etiquette! Have you never had a person on your friend list, who you kinda didnt really like and wanted to remove for your own personal reasons? Are ALL the people on your friend list “Friends”….

What do you do when it is an ex girlfriend who is moving on with her life blatantly infront of you. I think the easiest thing without making a huge fuss about it and letting her know that it is making you crazy is to just remove her/them, ….for my own sanity I had to take that step a while back.

So my advise to you is to not take it personally, maybe they are doing it for their own piece of mind, as I did…unless the person is not an ex then maybe they have just shown you in the nicest possible way that they are not your friend, point taken…lesson learnt. I would however check that maybe this person has first left facebook altogether and then they have removed themself from all their friends list.

The real hurtful thing is being blocked, you can do that too, go to privacy and block someone entirely! I find that even more hurtful a retort. Thats too say that someone doesnt think you exist… or possibly that they find it too hard to be reminded of you. Personally I found removing my ex to be the less offensive option. Regardless of what she is doing in her life now I would never want her to think that she affects me that deeply to block her completely. That way she will know she still has part of me. And even if she does, I am a bloke I dont want her to know that!

Lou - Ok I agree it could be worse I guess. Sorry to hear you had that shit babes.

Luke - Thank you. It is good to be able to get a different perspective about all sorts of things in life. This one is no exception. You are right! I am also known to over-react from “time to tim”. Retort reversed. It’s almost like you know the person to whom I refer. Do you?

Do I know this person? I doubt it but who knows with 6 degrees of separation anything is possible. Being a Saffa anything is possible right?

So you are in the same boat as me? I am gathering it is a woman? (I could have guess) Typically! LOL!! And if she reads your blog I think she will know its her, since you have now written about it, and made it into a kinda big deal..KAK one! as she will now know you care…Thats what I was trying to avoid with mine. Either way it does hurt like a bitch, Love sux!

Anyway Maybe she did what I did and just removed you for her own piece of mind. Then she probably isnt reading all this. I had no malice behind my decision so maybe you need to see it that way too.

Your site was reccomended to me by a friend in SA. As I am based out of London and am planning a trip down the west coast of the states for a month in September. Your photographs are great and I got some good ideas from your previous posts. How much did the balooning trip cost, if you dont mind me asking!

Personally I would feel more sorry for that Louisa.. thats rough having people actually blog about how fucked up you are! OUCH!

Luke - Yup, you are right mate. Too late I guess. lol. To be honest I can’t remember how much the balloon trip cost. I do recall it being a little more expensive than I was previously budgeting on but we did book it very last minute (the night before) and I swear by the time it was over, I would have paid double. Monument Valley is simply amazing. Check out http://monumentvalleyballooncompany.com/ and click on Rates / Reservations. Be sure to call ahead of time cos they also operate out of Pheonix so he is not always around. There are however plenty companies that do ballooning in and around the Arizona area.

Thanks guys, but don’t worry…I think the stuff that was written by that See-You-Next-Tuesday is much more revealing about him than about me. It was crap, but it’s all over now (that’s the silver lining, in case you missed it).

:-D <—All smiles again, see?
