Titillating Tuesday - Music

5 02 2008

Music is usually a lot more than sound. Music is emotion. Music is memory. Music can make or break a person. I absolutely love music. Having a bad day, listen to heavy rock. Having a slow and mellow day, speed it up by listening to heavy rock! Actually I love all kinds of music from Bob Dylan, REM, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones to Foo Fighters, Green Day, Guns and Roses, James Blunt, Avril Lavigne, etc etc etc. I have no particular genre or artist that I prefer. However I do have genres that I detest. Rave, house, all other beebop bullshit, R&B, rap and the likes.

How about making your own music? I have bought a guitar. Two guitars in fact. One electric and one acoustic. The electric is still in Port Elizabeth, South Africa where I had to leave it due to baggage constraints when I left for my assignment. The acoustic is with me in Albania. I also bought all the self teaching books, DVDs and other material. So now I have two guitars, heaps of multimedia, no excuses and I still cannot even play.

Some things you cannot buy are patience, will power or staying power.

Due to the traveling that I am going to have to so very soon, it seems I will not be able to take my guitar with me again. I will have to leave it behind. I can give it to someone more deserving of it than me. Someone who will not just leave it in it’s case looking fancy when people visit and ask if they can play.

Or maybe I can ship it? Best is I start making these decisions very soon!

Part II - The part that is all about YOU:

At some stage I would like to be able to showcase some other images that are not official, experienced, professional etc. What I’m talking about are photographs from Joe Public (that means any of YOU) that are on the same lines and which can be viewed and enjoyed by many. They don’t have to be fully exposed images. They can also be other works (online, professional, experienced or wherever) that you have seen or found and enjoy. I will add a little section to Titillating Tuesday for such personal works of art (PTT - Personal Titillating Tuesday). Saying that, I would really like to see some attempt at it being a work of art. No one is asking for a masterpiece, I’m just not looking for smut. There’s enough of that out there already.

All Personal Titillating Tuesday work can be sent to offthehoox@gmail.com

I will select the best of the bunch or perhaps a few depending on interest shown. Some details would be great too if you have them. Shutter speeds, ISO, F/Stop etc. If you don’t know what I’m talking about its perfectly acceptable. Send them in anyway. They will all remain strictly anonymous unless you specifically specify otherwise.

All I ask is that you try keep the file size down. Resolution of 800×600 or 500kb is ample to maintain the quality for this. Email me if you require instructions on how to this. I can make all further modifications. I don’t expect a huge response so I’m sure I can figure some time to help the infrequent submission.

Basic rules:

1. They must be your own. Do not submit (without permission) other’s naked pictures!
2. If they are professional art, the name of the artist must be mentioned.
3. No smut / porn will be posted. Please keep it clean within reason.
4. Have fun - Enjoy!

See you next week!

Lou - What part of me trying to travel light are you missing here? I am leaving my home away from home. I carry everything with me. But you are right. It is a really nice guitar and would be a real shame to let it go. It did pass some pretty interesting time in Iraq. Yeah I think you are right. I think I owe it to my six-string. I need to name her then. Suggestions please. The name in itself must BEG to be taken with me! Make it a good one! This ought to be good. 8)

I’m surprised at you! The obvious answer is to donate the guitar to your local Hard rock Cafe.

Honestly, do I have to do everything for you?

WG - How on earth did you know that Tirana had a Rock Cafe? You are good!

It’s easy…….

Hard Rock Cafe = Lovely young women.

Therefore, each and every male needs to know their locations.

Did I ever tell you about the Hard Rock in Moscow? Wait, this is a public forum. Probably best to do this offline!

PS One clue, it’s got nothing to do with G strings (guitar talk)

I agree 100% about music. I find that music inspires me. That’s where my best choreography comes from.

Right…guitar names…

It seems that the name of a guitar could really be anything. See here for some examples : http://www.beatlelinks.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-21408.html

Maybe you could help us help you by showing us what your guitar looks like first? ;-)

WG - You can show me the Moscow Rock Cafe on our educational excursion!

Snav - Are you still dancing? I can’t say that music inspires me but it does certainly relax me.

Lou - Thanks for that. But I don’t want to pick others names, I want my own original. Must be a name that I would feel guilty to leave behind therefore should be a females name. Its a Yamaha Acoustic. Its kinda like this: http://content.costco.ca/Images/Content/Product/139841c.jpg
My Electric is a Fender Squire. Kinda like this: http://www.spidermusic.co.uk/ProductImages/showmaster.jpg
You can name the electric too! Actually this gives me a blog idea. Name the guitar! 8)

Hoox,

I promise you the educational trip of a lifetime.

As for a name, why don’t you call the guitar Sasha? Or would that be a better name for a cello?

After spending some time deliberating, I would like to suggest the following as options for the official naming of your guitars:

The Acoustic one looks like a Suzy to me…the Fender I would name Shadow (technically you can’t leave your shadow behind, so that’s perfect). :-D

What do you think?
