Yup it’s raining. But this is like hectic rain that you see only on the highveld (upper escarpment) of South Africa on an average summer afternoon, or a large monsoon. Yeah, it’s that bad!
I shit you not the rain is coming “down” sideways and just for extra shits and giggles the weather guy has thrown in some hail. Try walking around in that! Fun. For good measure there’s bolt lightning and deafening thunder! I can’t get enough of it and am sitting glaring at it all through the window! LOVE IT!
It’s great when you get weather like this because you get to power test your infrastructure.
Passed:
- All IT systems - Yeah baby!
- Satellite is cruising! Love it!
Failed:
- Everything else
- Intermittent power
- All the buildings are leaking
- The camp looks like a mud bath
I know what you are thinking. “Why can’t all infrastructure and departments be as good as IT”? I can’t answer that though I’m afraid. IT just has to get used to being the best.
