One stop along the way down the ever scenic Californian coastline was Cayucos, CA. It’s a small town with a little old pier and a nice looking beach. But that’s not the emphasis of this story! It’s all about the food!
Without knowing where to eat and not having any recommendations, I think we has humans tend to go for what looks the nicest (or cheapest, or particular style of food) in the hope to get what we are looking for. This place caught my eye. It looked old, rustic and so full of character and history that it was definitely worth a shot. We sat upstairs, outside on the porch which was incredible. So chilled!

The service was fantastic, the food was brilliant, stunning atmosphere, great location, the people are super friendly and all that combined makes for a really good time out. I have been disappointed a bit with seafood along the way. If you know me at all you will know about my love for seafood. The waitress suggested I tried the calamari but I was a little skeptical. She insisted I tried it and that I would not be let down. She was right! It was the best damn calamari I have had in the USA and certainly some of the best calamari I have known to date! And complimented with the best Mai Thai I have ever had. Ok it was my first ever!
Thank you very much guys. Keep it up!

Yup, I was jealous before, now I’m just hungry. Sounds as though someone will have to hit the gym when they get back on site.

PS I watched SA vs USA last night. Tremendous entertainment and it was nice to see the gentlemen (amateur) rugby players of USA rubbing shoulders with the world’s elite. As a nuetral, I found it very entertaining and (I confess) I cheered when USA scored that tremendous try in the first half.
It doesn’t surprise me at all that 2/3 of Hoox’ stories are about great, delicious FOOD… and yes YOU are excused since you’re in the States…
WG! You know the answer after I asked somebody we both know… to WALK after an enormous lunch we had ? “Are you out of your mind, DRIVING is an activity”…
Melaz,
Could that be the same person who said…
“Of course I’m in shape. Round is a shape!”
Anyway, now that he’s blown his budget on food, drink and hotels, I wonder if he will be bringing any gifts back to Albania. Or even for his friends in foreign parts (Egypt?).

WG dear heart…..please keep in mind that the USA side is pretty much made up of NON yanks!! 4 South Africans some Kiwis some Pacific boys and the try you are referring to was by a Zimbabwean…so this is in fact why WE enjoyed the game…
Yanks playing Rugby…that’s just stoopid!
ps: can you tell i am a SAFFA? and proud of it!
WG:
Touchee !!! Yeap, same person…
Well, Under these circumstances I don’t fancy receiving a gift UNLESS Hooxiiii is nice enough to Wildcats’ cheerleaders, so they can award him with CATS’ shorts. About your gift…I’m trying to think…heemmmm…sure you’ll get a bottle of WildTurkey Whiskey for a change…
