“Sense” is something that gets thrown around so easily:
- Are you completely out of your senses?
- I knocked him senseless!
- Where is the sense in that?
- Sense and sensibility.
- Was that really sensible?
What about our 5 senses? Ok females have 6. If you don’t believe me then you have never been in a situation where you have had to try and pull the wool over her eyes or in layman’s terms, bullshit your way out of a situation. They just KNOW!! Its spooky! Anyway, getting back the regular human 5 senses… I’m pretty sure that every one of us have had a sit down moment where we think what it would be like to have lost one of our major 5 connections with the outside world and admire those that have lost one or more and still manage to live a normal life and make a great impact in this world. If not, now’s your chance, why don’t you take a few minutes and have that moment!
Try to imagine what it would be like with your world in complete darkness, or silence. What about not being able to smell or taste all the wonders that the world has to offer? What about never feeling the embrace from a loved one or a pat on the back when you have achieved greatness?
How often have your senses reminded you of times long forgotten? That sweet smell of candy floss that reminds you of the funfair when you were a child or the smell of a sweet perfume that you can instantly put a face to from a life long ago? The taste of a meal that reminds you of a first date? The hug from someone you have missed so terribly? The sound of a voice that instantly puts a smile on your face no matter how often you hear it. What about that day that you can look at someone and say “you really are a sight for sore eyes”.
Make sense? Isn’t it incredible what we take for granted?
